                                                                BHSA HIGHLIGHTS

Two months into the 2007/2008 school year, BHSA has already hosted and participated in a myriad of activities from Open Houses to outside Band and Orchestra performances.  While preparing for the school’s Holiday Concert Series in December, it should be noted that – among many other events – the following happenings of media note have already transpired:

• Councilman David Yasskey’s Office has given BHSA a $25,000 grant to be used with the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra to provide special Philharmonic programs/master teaching sessions for BHSA instrumental music students.

• In September, Mr. Duncan’s String Ensemble group performed at the citywide ‘Music In The Park’ Celebration in Washington Square Park.

• On October 25th, Ms. Fila’s Vocal Students performed at the ‘Tribute to Biggie Smalls’ at Madame Tussaunds Wax Museum where a wax likeness to Biggie was unveiled.
