The New York City Department of Education Office of Family Engagement and Advocacy will be hosting a “Taste of The Big Apple” event at the Food & Finance High School on 50th Street in NYC. This family event is will celebrate the rich diversity of the city. The community will enjoy apple and food tastings, healthy cooking demonstrations and recipes to try at home. This community event takes diabetes education out of the traditional clinical setting and combines it with makeovers from celebrity makeup and fashion experts, music, spa services, a fashion show and health screenings – all FREE.
