WCBS-FM Airstaff - Sue O'Neal

Sue O'Neal
Saturday 6am-10am
Sunday 6am-10am

New York  radio audiences remember Sue O’Neal as one of the first female DJ’s in the city as part of the air staff of the legendary 99X in the late 1970’s.  CBS-FM listeners will also remember her as one of the first female voices heard on CBS-FM in the ‘90’s.

Sue’s love affair with radio began when she heard her first Beatle record on WABC and was inspired by radio greats like Dan Ingram and Cousin Brucie. She started behind the mic at a local radio station in her native Connecticut reporting high school news.  After graduating from Emerson College in Boston,  Sue worked at WVBF-FM in Boston and G98, Cleveland, where she was one of the first female dj’s in the country to do mornings on a Top 40 station.  After doing nights at 99X, Sue returned to Connecticut.

Sue moved back to New York radio and over the years, she’s been on the air at a few NYC radio stations including Mix 102.7 and CBS-FM.  Sue also hosted the Totally 70’s channel on Sirius.

Not satisfied with dominating one medium, Sue has also been a writer/producer for HBO/Cinemax, A&E/ The History Channel, and Lifetime TV, and was also one of the voices of HBO Entertainment News.

Sue lives in Westchester with her husband and two spoiled cats. She loves going to movies and Italian restaurants, her favorite Beatle is Ringo, and her ideal NYC location is the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.
