Saturday’s 2PM-7PM
Rick Stacy has been on the airwaves at some of the biggest radio stations in the largest cities across the USA since 1981.
A native New Yorker, growing up in Flushing, Rick started his radio career at 13 recording his first radio show on a Panasonic cassette recorder with his dog Charlie.
Highly influenced by MusicRadio WABC, Rick had his headset duct taped to his ears every afternoon from 2-6PM listening to Dan Ingram. Rick can actually sing Dan’s closing theme which had no lyrics. When Rick went to college in Florida his mom would send him cassettes of WABC to listen to. Rick had this to say about his radio idol Dan Ingram "as with many disc jockeys, Dan Ingram is the reason I got into radio. I once told him that and his response was ‘oh no another life ruined".
Beginning in 1981, Rick let his creativity soar with improvisational air-work that kept commuters glued to his morning show in many markets including Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Miami and more.
Rick has won numerous awards throughout his career including Radio Personality of the Year from Billboard Magazine and Program Director of the Year from Don Anthony’s Talent Masters. He also had his own nationwide network program Ultimate ‘80’s, and was the official fill-in for Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 during the early ‘90’s. At one point, Rick actually pawned his car to buy two little radio stations of his own in Gainesville, Florida.
During the week, Rick is the Program Director and Morning Personality on XM Satellite Radio’s ’80’s Channel.
Rick and his wife Angie have two crazy teenage sons Alex and Max. Rick loves playing New York’s Greatest Hits weekends on CBS-FM. Says Rick, "it’s so much fun and it’s a great excuse for avoiding the honey-do list!"
